About the Hotel
Posted on September 5th, 2014
The Caledonian Hotel was built (About 1905) by a distant relative. Great Aunt Annie Chisholm (nee MacDonald of Whitebridge). Her father had already built the Whitebridge Inn/Hotel and The Caledonian was built with the same architectural plans. The hotel has been run by MacLellans of Mallaig Bheag since 1978. Over the last 35 years the Caledononian Hotel has been slowly modernised to provide private facilities in all bedrooms while preserving the the layout and character of this traditional small highland hotel. It is ideally located to explore the Highlands; Skye, Ullapool and Dornoch are all less than 2 hours away by car.
